      1. Service Providers. Cloud hosting, authentication, and secure payment vendors who process PI on our behalf under binding agreements.
      2. Legal & Compliance. Where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ReHousing, our users, or the public.
      3. Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided the successor continues to protect PI consistent with this Policy.

We never share PI with advertisers, data brokers, or socialmedia platforms.

7. Storage & Security

      • PI is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest in our Canadian cloud data centres.
      • Rolebased access controls, multifactor authentication, and leastprivilege principles restrict access to Authorized Personnel only.
      • Security monitoring, logging, and annual penetration testing protect against unauthorized access.
      • We maintain written incidentresponse and databreach notification procedures aligned with PIPEDA Breach of Security Safeguards Regulations.

      • maintain session state and authenticate users;
      • route traffic for loadbalancing;
      • safeguard against crosssite request forgery (CSRF) and other attacks.

You can disable cookies in your browser; however, the Services may not function correctly without them.

Under PIPEDA you have the right to:

      • Access the personal information we hold about you;
      • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
      • Withdraw consent to further use or disclosure (subject to legal or contractual restrictions);
      • Challenge our compliance with PIPEDA through our Privacy Officer.

Where another jurisdiction grants additional rights (e.g., deletion), we will honour those rights when legally required.

To exercise any right, email privacy@rehousing.ca. We will respond within 30 days, subject to legal limitations.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for individuals 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect PI from children. If you believe a child has provided PI, contact us immediately to delete the data.

12. International Transfers

ReHousing primarily stores PI in Canada. If we transfer PI outside Canada—for example, to a U.S. service provider, we ensure an equivalent level of protection via contractual clauses and technical safeguards.

13. Third-Party Links

Our assessment reports may link to municipal bylaws, architectural resources, or financialinstitution calculators. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those thirdparty sites.

14. Binding Arbitration & Class Action Waiver

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

      1. Initial Customer-Support Resolution
        If there is a Dispute (as defined below), before you start a formal action you agree to email support@rehousing.ca with a concise written summary of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to (a) these Terms of Use, (b) your access to or use of the Toronto ReHousing website, APIs, or web-app, (c) any digital report, estimate, or communication generated by the Services, or (d) our marketing of the Services (each, a “Dispute”). We will work with you to attempt to resolve the Dispute informally within 30 calendar days.
      2. Mandatory Mediation (Canadian Arbitration Association)
        If we cannot resolve the Dispute informally, we will promptly submit it to mediation administered by the Canadian Arbitration Association (“CAA”) under its Mediation Rules. All discussions and submissions prior to the referral of the Dispute to arbitration shall be on a “without prejudice” basis. Mediator fees will be shared equally between you and us.
      3. Binding Arbitration
        If mediation fails, the Dispute must be resolved exclusively by confidential, binding arbitration through the CAA under its Arbitration Rules (the “Rules”):
        • Seat & Venue. Toronto, Ontario, Canada, unless you and we agree to a fully virtual hearing.
        • Arbitrator. A single neutral arbitrator with experience in technology and real-estate-related services, appointed per the Rules.
        • Limited Discovery. Parties to the arbitration may exchange relevant, non-privileged documents and take a reasonable number of depositions, as authorized by the arbitrator.
        • Governing Law. Ontario law and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
        • Award. The arbitrator’s written award will contain factual findings and legal reasoning and may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. Except on the narrow grounds in the Arbitration Act, 1991 (ON), the award is final and non-appealable.
      4. Scope of Claims
        The arbitrator may grant all remedies available at law or in equity for every kind of Dispute relating to the Services, including contract, tort, statutory, and equitable claims, and disputes about the accuracy or reliance on any property assessment or cost estimate we generate. Exception: either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect its trademarks, copyrights, patents, or trade secrets.
      5. Waiver of Court Trial
        BY AGREEING TO ARBITRATE, BOTH YOU AND REHOUSING (CANADA) WAIVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE ANY DISPUTE HEARD BY A JUDGE OR JURY.
      6. Class Action Waiver
        All proceedings (whether arbitration or court) must be individual, not class, collective, or representative actions. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over a class. If this waiver is held unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim must proceed in court, not arbitration.
      7. Small-Claims Option
        Either party may choose to bring an individual claim in the Ontario Small Claims Court if the claim is within that court’s jurisdiction and seeks monetary relief only.
      8. Fees & Costs
        Each party pays its own legal fees and half the CAA administrative and arbitrator fees, unless the arbitrator allocates costs differently in the final award.
      9. Confidentiality
        Except as required to enforce an award or by law, all arbitration proceedings, filings (including all related information, communications, documents, materials and evidence), and awards are confidential. In the event that a party appeals to the court under as permitted by this Policy or if a party needs to file confidential materials with the court to protect its legal rights, the party shall seek a protective order from the arbitrator or the court, as may be appropriate.
      10. Limitations Period
        You may not start a proceeding under this Section 14 with respect to a Dispute  after the second anniversary of the day on which the act or omission or circumstance on which the Dispute is based took place.
      11. Severability
        If any part of this Section 14 is found unenforceable, the remainder remains in full force.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via an inapp banner or email at least 30 days before they take effect. The “Effective Date” above will be revised accordingly.
